After Marshall opened the game with very strong play in the 1st 25 minutes of action, they needed to have capitalized better. The game remained 0-0 although Marshall was probably deserving of a goal or two based on the chances created.  As Marshall's dominance on the game began to fade, Western capitalized to take a 1-0 lead into the half.

 

In the second half, Marshall again started strong and this time they were rewarded with a goal.  Ollie Rozell played a ball to Anaya Burghdorf whose shot beat the keeper and softly settled into the back of the net to tie the score at 1-1.  Western was able to follow-up with 2 unanswered set-piece goals to give them a 3-1 lead that would be the final score.

 

With the loss Marshall drops to 2-1-0 in I-8 Conference play and 7-5-0 overall.
