5/1 Game 1 Marshall 7, Harper Creek 5

Layne Churchill was really dominant in the circle and gave us a chance against a good Harper team. In one of her better outings of the year, Churchill went all 7 innings only running into some trouble in the top of the 7th. She finished with 8 strikeouts, giving up 8 hits and 5 earned runs. Offensively we had a huge 2nd inning with 5 hits and 3 walks, leading to 6 runs. 2 hits a piece for Brielle Kelly, Brooke Carden, Gwen Beach, Claire Kelly, and Alayna Hayes. Addison Carden and Brooke Carden each doubled. 

 

Game 2 Harper Creek 12, Marshall 5

In game 2, we made a lot of mistakes mentally and physically. Early on, Claire Kelly was sharp in the circle, getting through their order easily. Harper took advantage in the 3rd inning where we struggled to work ahead in the count. Kelly took the loss for the Redhawks going 4 innings with 7 hits and 6 earned runs. Offensively Gwen Beach homered twice and Brooke Carden and Lauren Lewis doubled. 

 

5/2 Game 1 Marshall 15, Hillsdale 0

Marshall took care of business against Hillsdale on Friday winning 15-0 in 3 innings. Brooke Carden was 3-3 with 3 rbis. Brielle Kelly and Addison Carden each had two hits, while Gwen Beach also had 3 RBIs. Claire Kelly pitched a perfect game! She threw just 41 pitches, striking out 7 and surrendering no hits or walks. 

 

Game 2 Marshall 18, Hillsdale 3

Addison Carden picked up the win for Marshall, going 4 innings while surrendering 3 runs on 6 hits. She had 5 strikeouts. Offensively we collected 15 hits as a team. 2 doubles and 5 rbi from Gwen Beach. 1 double each from Brooke Carden and Addison Carden. Layne Churchill tripled.
